Napkin Note 08.10.2015

I've kinda stunk at getting my life together in the mornings lately, & the napkin notes suffered because of it. Hoping to change that as we usher in this new school year!

Life, Lately . . .

Just because it's the summer doesn't mean we've slowed down at all!

WORK
Hubby has been hard at work while a new renovation takes place in his building (and has been totally excited about the progress).

Before school even let out in our county, I was off to nanny a couple counties over! I've got the same sweetheart I had last summer, and a few weeks in, we are having a blast.

FAMILY TIME
We've been travelling to see family, and family has been travelling to see us! We got to catch up with Hubby's fantastic brother and his incredible wife a few weeks ago (okay, the real reason we went was to see our adorable nephew--don't tell the grown-ups ;) )! And I got a WHOLE WEEK with my little sister! Talk about fun times and blessings--especially since I got to see my parents on the two weekends surrounding that week! This upcoming weekend, we're off to the Savannah area to go celebrate my sweet Grandma's 70th birthday! Woo-hoo!

The week my sister came to visit, we also got to "Journey Off the Map," as we helped with VBS at Watkinsville FBC! Caity and I had a blast working with the sweetest group of kindergarten girls, and my heart just melted when one of our little ones prayed "that everyone would know that they're fearfully and wonderfully made!"

THE FUTURE
The biggest update of all though: I've been a little hesitant to share too much about job opportunities, but I officially signed my contract yesterday, so now there's no gettin' rid of me now! ;) I am so excited to (finally) announce that I have accepted a position teaching fourth grade at Winterville Elementary School! Fourth graders are so fun, and I can't wait to see what the year ahead holds. So many faculty and staff members have already greeted me with warm smiles and supportive, encouraging words, and I am so thrilled to be a "Winner Bee!"

Thank you to those of you that have prayed with me and for me about what the future holds! I'm excited to now share a little piece of it and will keep you updated throughout my first year of teaching!

Blessings,
Michaela

Napkin Note 06.07.2015

After nearly a week & a half of being away from my sweet hubby, I was so excited to get back home to him! I missed our time together & even longed to be able to do a napkin note for him. I'm glad to be back at it this morning!

Friday Uplift

Hubby & I both have the day off today, so no napkin note needed! I still sent a little inspiration via my favorite Bible app though. This is a verse that stuck out to me from my morning devotion. Today, I learned about being cautious of spiritual blindness. We need to have eyes that are open to His grace, so our lives can be full of light!

Napkin Note 05.15.2015

I stole some extra Hubby snuggles this morning, so I didn't have time to do a real Napkin Note. Sent this to him this morning instead, for some extra Friday inspiration! Happy Friday! :-)

Family Time

We have been busy little bees over the past several weeks, travelling in a couple of different directions to go see family, and it's been so fantastic!

On March 18th, my wonderful parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary! Their marriage has been such an inspiration to me over the past couple of decades, as they've shown me how to love one another and fight for your marriage, no matter what.

We had the opportunity to go down to the Savannah area to visit with them a couple of weekends ago and had a great time catching up with our family. We took a trip to Downtown Savannah on Saturday to have dinner at The Pirates' House and do a little walking.

The Pirates' House

They don't look old enough to have been married 25 years, huh?

David & Jesse just celebrated four years together!

The prettiest, sweetest little sister a girl could ask for.

Two of my favorite guys

Lukas, the charming comedian

The Lariscy Family

That sassy Plexus lady

We can't stay away from UGA!

All of "the kids" (on "historic steps," aka a good workout!)

Blessed.

Over Easter weekend, we had a chance to head over to Columbus to catch up with Geoff's side of the family. The most exciting part of this trip: getting to see our precious niece and nephew! Oh my goodness! First of all, they're both growing up too fast! We haven't seen my sweet nephew since Thanksgiving, and he's done so much growing since then! He is a brilliant little man that can get you to do just about anything with his adorable smile and beautiful laugh. We got to spend Easter with him at "Gigi" and "Boo"'s house! He was great at finding Easter eggs!

Then, there's our niece. She's coming up on a year in a few months, but we all live so far apart that this is the first time we've been able to meet her (talk about feeling like a horrible aunt)! We started to make up for it though, as I got to hold that wiggle worm and play with her for a good bit! "Aunt K" even got a sweet little kiss on the cheek. (Yes, drool was involved. No, I'm not complaining. I would take a million of those kisses a day if I could get them.)

"Yes, I'll show you how to build, Uncle Geoff!"

Sweet snuggles

"No, Uncle Justin, the red blocks go this way . . . "

"I wanna build!"

Tippy-toes!

We loved that red ball . . . we did not love when it disappeared down the hole on the table.

Gotta talk to "Boo!"

He dotes on her a little bit . . .

. . . & would do anything to make her smile!

Seriously, can we just go back to last week?

We tried a group photo. Tried.

Using "'Owan's 'one"

"Aunt K, get that camera out of my face."

"Well, okay. If you're going to make those noises and that face, I'll give you a smile."
I think it's safe to say I love these little ones (and got a little camera-happy--Heaven help us when we have our own). It was so great to finally see them and give them some "Aunt K love." I also loved being able to catch up with my funny brothers-in-law, sweet sisters-in-law, and loving mother-in-law!

These past couple of weeks have been kind of hectic with travelling in different directions, but the time we were able to spend with our families will always be treasured. We truly feel blessed to have such amazing people in our lives!
